With thousands of dogs entering the Kansas Humane Society each year, often animals need help for an injury or treatable condition which is outside the scope of what we can provide at our facility. The Emergency Medical Fund was established so dogs and cats can receive the medical treatment they deserve.
The Emergency Medical Fund assists treatable animals needing extensive medical care. One of these was Thor (pictured here), who was found after being attacked by other dogs on the streets of Wichita. Covered in hundreds of severe bite wounds from head to toe, Thor didn’t give up, he lay quietly while staff rallied around him, trying to save his life. Hundreds of dollars and tender care from our medical staff and volunteers helped Thor mend.
With your help, we can save many more precious lives, like Thor. This fund will sustain our growing medical costs so that more homeless pets can receive a second chance at a lifelong loving family to call their own.
We appreciate your consideration of a donation. Please keep in mind that any donation given should be over and above what you would normally give to KHS. KHS needs those regular donations to keep up with the general operating expenses of the shelter.
