JOB DESCRIPTION: Special Events Volunteer

GOAL: The goal of the Special Events Volunteer is to be a part of the overall effort that it takes to have a special event. All of our events raise funds for the Kansas Humane Society, which would not survive without the generous support of the public.

SUPERVISOR: Team Captain and/or Volunteer Coordinator

TIME COMMITMENT: Time commitment varies depending on the event.

DUTIES: The Special Events Volunteer can be involved in a wide variety of activities. The major events we have during the year are: Woofstock, Santa Claws, and Pennies from Heaven. There are also smaller events that come up from time to time throughout the year. There is a wide variety of duties for special events; specific duties will depend on the event. Some of the duties may be stuffing mailers, making phone calls, giving shelter tours, helping customers with questions, transporting animals or materials, working at booths, etc.

TRAINING: Completion of Volunteer Orientation. Additional training will be given by the Team Captain and/or the Volunteer Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to work well with both people and animals, be flexible with the types of duties you would be willing to do, be reliable, willingness to help make the event fun for the customers and yourself. MUST BE AT LEAST 9 YEARS OF AGE WITH PARENTAL SUPERVISION.
