JOB DESCRIPTION: Kennel Staff Support Volunteer
GOAL: The goal of the Shelter Staff Support Volunteer is to assist KHS staff in making sure the animals have comfortable living spaces and are taken care of in the best possible way.
SUPERVISOR: Shelter Management
TIME COMMITMENT: At least once per week (approx. 2 hrs) for a minimum of six months.
AVAILABLE TIMES: Times for this position are very flexible, depending on what you plan to do.
DUTIES: The Shelter Staff Support Volunteer will be doing dishes and laundry, scooping and mopping runs, giving toys, treats, fresh water and blankets to the animals. They will also be brushing, bathing, socializing and walking dogs not in the C.E.T.P. program, as well as cats.
TRAINING: Completion of Volunteer Orientation. Additional training will be given by the Team Captain and/or Shelter staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to work well with both people and animals, have good communication skills, and be physically agile. MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE, OR 14 YEARS OF AGE WITH PARENT.
