JOB DESCRIPTION: Foster Parent Volunteer
GOAL: The goal of the Foster Parent Volunteer is to help animals outside of the shelter environment who are underage, sick, injured, or unsocialized so that they may become healthy, adoptable animals.
SUPERVISOR: Shelter Manager and Volunteer Coordinator
TIME COMMITMENT: Varies depending on animal. Usually is anywhere from one to eight weeks
DUTIES: The Foster Parent Volunteer will take underage, sick, injured or unsocialized animals to their home until the animal deemed ready to be put up for adoption at the shelter.
TRAINING: Completion of Volunteer Orientation. Additional training will be given by KHS Management staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the time and ability to work with the animal(s). For underage animals, must be willing to bottle feed every two to four hours if necessary. THIS IS A GREAT POSITION FOR FAMILIES TO DO TOGETHER!
