Education

The Kansas Humane Society is committed to preventing the animal welfare problems through education. We believe that in order to solve the problems of pet overpopulation, cruelty and neglect, humane organizations must teach the lessons of responsible pet ownership.

In January 1998, the Kansas Humane Society added an education department to its services. The position was funded by the Forrest C. Lattner Foundation, the Kansas Health Foundation, and the K.T. Wiedemann Foundation. We provide educational resources such as age-appropriate lesson plans, activities and videos for classrooms and other groups and are available for school visits and tours of the shelter.

To request a school visit, tour or educational materials, please call the public education coordinator at 316-524-1590, ext 210 or e-mail Dayna Boso.
