Woofstock 2007, a Dog-Friendly Event Benefitting the Kansas Human Society is Friday, October 6, in Sedgwick County Park
Wichita, KS - Presented by the Warren Theatres and the Kansas Humane Society, Woofstock 2007 will be held this Saturday, October 76, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Sedgwick County Park (just west of the zoo). An annual celebration of peace, love and pets, Woofstock invites pets and people to participate in activities catered exclusively for them including the one-mile Mutt Strut, Two-Mile Mike Oatman Memorial Fun Run, or Pup Trot for Kids. Dogs can also watch and then participate in sheep herding, water retrieval, Jack Russell Terrier racing, doggie musical chairs, costumes contests and obedience demonstrations. Both children and dogs are invited to hang out in the Paws and Play arena with activities catered for the average dog, like the Ball Bobbing Pond or the Dig Sites, and fun stuff for kids including a balloon bounce and pawtrait painting. Adults can bid on over $25,000 in items at the Silent Auction and enjoy great music by local bands.
Admission is a $3 suggested donation per person or collect $35 or more in donations and receive a Woofstock prize pack plus be eligible to win a year of movies from the Warren Theatres. The donation can be paid directly by the participant or raised through donations or collected through our new online donation system www.woofstock.kshumane.org.

Please note that the Kansas Humane Society will close on Woofstock Saturday, October 6. Regular hours of operation (11 a.m. - 6 p.m.) will resume on Sunday, October 7. Those individuals needing assistance on October 6 are asked to contact the City of Wichita Animal Shelter at (316) 838-9623.
The Kansas Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that receives over 14,000 animals each year from citizens unable or unwilling to care for them. Protecting pets since 1888, the Society receives no government, national humane association or United Way funding and depends entirely on private donations and fees.
