Kansas Humane Society Invites Public to Adopt Kittens for $17.76 and Cats for $0 During Cat Independence Days Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7
Wichita - The Kansas Humane Society is experiencing a large influx of adoptable cats due to a huge explosion in the feline population and an increase in the number of cats being relinquished. In order to encourage people to adopt, the Kansas Humane Society is offering a reduced adoption fee of $17.76 for all kittens 9 months and younger and is waiving the adoption fee for all adult cats (regular fee ranges from $45- $95) during Cat Independence Days on Friday, July 6, and Saturday, July 7. Each cat adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, basic series of cat vaccinations, Kansas Humane Society tattoo, microchip, and a cat carrier. Limit of two cat adoptions per household.
"Our goal is to adopt out over 200 cats and kittens during Cat Independence Days," said Jennifer Campbell, the Society's director of communications. "We're offering the public a win-win situation. We temporarily waive the adoption fee on all adult cats and reducing the adoption fee on kittens in order to help these fantastic felines find new homes. You adopt a fabulous, healthy and already spayed or neutered cat at a minimal adoption fee and we're able to create more space at the shelter where homeless cats get a second chance at finding a loving home for a lifetime."
Members of the public wanting more information on how to adopt a homeless cat during Cat Independence Days should contact the Kansas Humane Society's Adoptions Team at (316) 524-9196, ext. 208 or 209.
The Kansas Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that receives over 13,500 animals each year from citizens unable or unwilling to care for them. Protecting pets since 1888, the Society receives no government, national humane association or United Way funding and depends entirely on private donations and fees.
