Teaching students the importance of being humane, environmentally conscious citizens is a worthwhile and rewarding task. Recognizing the natural bond between children and pets, many area schools have added Pennies from Heaven, an annual fundraising drive to benefit the Kansas Humane Society, to their yearly curriculum.
Sign your class or school up today! We’ll send you FREE posters, brochures, lesson plans and more. We’re also be happy to visit your school or group and make a dynamic educational presentation complete with a KHS pet to get everyone excited.

This is often the first experience for many children in volunteering or giving to charity. By collecting spare dimes, nickels and pennies, they learn that even the most humble of gestures will. Last year’s Pennies from Heaven raised over $14,000 for the Kansas Humane Society all of which went directly to providing care and comfort to 16,000 homeless pets.

About Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum is comprised of singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley and multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood. Kelley and Haywood were classmates at the University of Georgia, studying finance, when they started writing songs together. In time, they decided to moved to Nashville to pursue music careers. Hillary Scott, the daughter of country singer Linda Davis and musician Lang Scott, once had major label interest as a solo artist; however, the deal fell through. In 2006, she introduced herself to Kelley (whose brother, Josh Kelley, is also a musician) after recognizing him from his MySpace profile.
When all three members started writing and performing together, Nashville noticed. They began opening shows for big country artists, as well as earning high-profile gigs in the clubs around town. Capitol Nashville will release their debut album in 2008. Courtesy of CMT.com
