Attention Parents! Do you need to hit those early morning sales the day afterThanksgiving? Now you can do it without having to worry about your children! The Kansas Humane Society is offering a Black Friday Critter Camp to keep your children busy, so you can get your shopping done more efficiently.
Activities will include kid friendly service projects, painting with puppies, learning about pet care & responsibility, animal safety games, etc. Special featured activities will be visiting the spay/neuter clinic! Camp will be instructed by KHS Youth Education staff & volunteers. (Registration Deadline Monday, November 19th).
Critter Camp is a fun way for kids to learn about animals and have lots of fun at the same time! Activities include games, tours, fun crafts focused on basic animal care and safety, pet training, the bond shared between people and companion animals, the importance of veterinary care and ways to address the pet homelessness and overpopulation in our community. The Black Friday Critter Camp curriculum is designed for children age 6-12.

responsibility and empathy toward animals
Viewing a live spay/neuter surgery in our clinic
Walking dogs and cuddling kitties
Helping the animals by doing a shelter job each day
Painting with Puppies! Campers can express their inner artist and make some furry dog friends with our “Painting with Puppies”program. Our campers and pets will work together to create beautiful and unique works of art using paws, paint and their inspiration.
All activities take place at the Kansas Humane Society’s state-of-the-art Murfin Animal Care Campus. Guest speakers will join us as well, in order to put into practice the humane treatment of all living things.

Please remember that all proceeds from Critter Camp benefit animal welfare programs and services for the care of animals sheltered at the Kansas Humane Society.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:
Your child must be signed in when they arrive and signed out when they are picked up. If you are coming in the morning session, the doors will be locked when you arrive, please ring the doorbell and someone will come let you in. Please do not arrive earlier than 8:15am.
COST PER SESSION:
$25 for either the morning or afternoon session.
WHAT TO BRING:
Your child will be around animals and walking dogs, sneakers are the best choice. It is also suggested your child bring a hoodie or jacket to wear as appropriate for the weather.
Open to children ages 6-12. Enrollment must be on file with the Kansas Humane Society prior to your child’s camp attendance. No child may attend without current forms and payment made.
Pre-registration is required to attend. Payment is due upon registration, payable to the Kansas Humane Society. Payment is non-refundable.
Space is limited - first come, first serve. Please do not mail your registration form or payment. You may enroll online and you will receive your registration paperwork via email. You may also register at KHS in our store.
A minimum of 5 children is required to have a session. If 5 children do not enroll, parents/guardians will be notified no less than 2 days prior to camp.
All persons authorized to pick up a child must be prepared to show I.D. (no exceptions)
