Behavior Training Classes

The Kansas Humane Society is pleased to offer behavior training classes for dogs and their owners taught by our expert staff. Our quality instruction and intimate environment will provided you and your dog the skills you need to have a long and happy well-mannered life together.

We currently offer Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Manners classes held in our Learning Center. All classes are 7 weeks long and include one week of lecture, six weeks of hands-on instruction and a Kansas Humane Society Certificate of Achievement.

2010 Class Schedule

Puppy Kindergarten

1. Ages: 8 weeks - 6 months. Age exceptions must be approved in advance by instructor. 
2. Vaccinations: Must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations (including rabies).
3. Class Size: 12

Get your pup started off on the right paw with Puppy Kindergarten. Your puppy will develop early basic obedience skills as well as participate in socialization activities in so that he or she will grow into a confidant adult and be the best friend possible.  We'll also help you prevent your pup from developing those pesky behaviors of excessive digging, jumping, and chewing. Your dog will also learn loose leash walking.

Basic Manners

1. We recommend that your dog attend Puppy Kindergarten prior to this class or have a comparable skill level.
2. Ages: 6 months and older.
3. Vaccinations: Must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations (including rabies).

Have fun with your dog in this fun, positive reinforcement training class. Learn basic obedience skills including come, sit, stay, and down and humane solutions to the challenges of jumping, barking, digging, and chewing. Your dog will also learn loose leash walking.
