IN ORDER TO ADOPT, YOU: must be 18 years of age or older (or accompanied by an adult) have a current photo ID be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for your adopted companion. When you arrive at the Kansas Humane Society, we’ll ask you fill out a Cat Adopter Survey. This one-page survey tells us what your kind of cat you’re looking for and helps us determine which cats might best suit your lifestyle. PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the number of guests we’re serving, the adoption process can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes. PRINT THE SURVEY AT HOME & BRING IT WITH YOU: Download the Cat Adopter Survey (PDF) Once you've explored the adoption floor, let our adoption counselors know which cat(s) you'd like to meet. They’ll take you to one of our quiet, private visiting rooms to give you and the cat(s) a chance to get to know each other. We encourage visits by all members of the household especially kids!
